Irene Dances Up Eastern Coastline

HURRICANE IRENE is still packing a whollop of a punch as she heads for the US mainland. Beaches are being closed and mandatory evacuations are taking place up and down the East Coast.

Now a category two Hurricane, Irene is nothing to be coy about. Her winds are strong and rain is plentous. Irene is expected to come ashore in the Carolinas some time today and impact the Mid Atlantic region Tomorrow and Sunday.

So, what should you do to be prepared? You should have a three day supply of water, food and medicines. Keep plenty of batteries and candles on hand. If you own a generator, get it ready. Have plenty of fuel in for your generator and be sure your vehicles are gassed up in case you have to leave your home.

Don't forget your pets needs also. Have enough water for them and keep their food near yours. Try to take special care of your pets during the storm as they will also be frightened from the wind, thunder and lightening.

Most of all heed the warnings of your local authorities for travel. Stay indoors if possible.
